Léopold is a talented young actor. He’s been hired by a Brussels theater to act in a play directed by the famous Suschitsky, an imperious man for whom his interprets are nothing but wax to be molded to his liking. For Léopold, this is just one authority among many to which he has bowed all his life. His father, a car salesman, provides him with all the money he needs. This thick, jovial man lives only in the memory of the car races in which he was once a small-scale champion.
