According to Ken and Jim Wheat, the idea of Pitch Black was suggested by David Madden during his tenure in Interscope Communications, where “[t]ravelers visit a planet where multiple suns mean perpetual daylight, but when an eclipse brings darkness, ghosts emerge.” The ghost part only survived the first draft.

This is the film of my youth. One might say that nostalgia creeps into all the cracks. And Diesel didn’t play badly. Overall, it turned out to be a well-knit fantasy.
How simple, I would even say primitive, is such an atmospheric, well-made film
Vin Diesel. The film was a success and is stored in my memory not on the last shelf. I will never tire of re-watching it, and this is my favorite part of all the stories about Riddick.
A great film that hasn’t gotten old in 20 years! years, which is clearly seen in the last, completely disastrous part. Luxurious shooting, a simple but interesting plot, monsters, space and everything as it should be! I’m looking forward to rewatching it!
Time has shown how cool this film really is. I like it more and more with each rewatch.
Between 9 and 10 is a film for me. Nothing superfluous in a film for 20 rubles. Both the plot and the ending and the effects. Diesel’s best role.
