The director of the first film, Patty Jenkins, who initially signed for only one film, had expressed interest in returning to direct the sequel. In June 2017, during an interview with Variety, comic book writer Geoff Johns revealed that he and Jenkins had started writing the treatment for a Wonder Woman sequel and that he had a "cool idea for the second one". While speaking in a Q&A at a Women in Film screening of the film, Jenkins stated she would indeed direct the sequel. Jenkins later clarified that "it wasn't a confirmation. Just talking about ideas and hopes."

Wonder Woman: 1984 - The Comic Book Inspiration
About the Comic
The film "Wonder Woman: 1984" is inspired by the iconic DC Comics character Wonder Woman, who was created by William Moulton Marston. Wonder Woman first appeared in "All Star Comics" #8 in December 1941 and has since become one of the most enduring and popular superheroes in the DC Universe.Creators
- William Moulton Marston: The original creator of Wonder Woman, Marston was a psychologist and writer who introduced the character as a symbol of female empowerment and strength.
Comic Book Storylines
The film does not directly adapt a specific comic book storyline but draws inspiration from various elements of Wonder Woman's rich history in the comics. The character has been involved in numerous story arcs that explore themes of justice, love, and peace, often set against the backdrop of mythological and modern conflicts.Film's Faithfulness to the Comic
While "Wonder Woman: 1984" takes creative liberties, it remains true to the spirit of the comics by emphasizing Wonder Woman's core values and her role as a hero. The film incorporates elements of her mythological origins and her iconic status as a symbol of hope and empowerment, which are central themes in the comics.Production

Too fantasy, with a bunch of extra scenes, but a nice heroic blockbuster. Gadot still pulls everything with his charm without any problem. And Pine, Pascal and Wiig accompany her perfectly. The rest of the roles are episodic. Music and graphics are good. It wasn’t boring at all.

Watched
A sweet fairy tale filled with everything. For children it will be just right. Like a sweet sugary cocktail. "It seems to be tasty, but they overdid it with sweets."

Watched
Until recently, I did not believe that the sequel had sunk so much compared to the original, but my fears were confirmed. It’s like a childish, ridiculous "True, Live Truth" essay that calls itself a superhero blockbuster.

Watched
Even in the conditions of "lack of fish", when almost nothing is released, this film did not bring much pleasure because of the overly banal plot, while it was full of holes, like a sieve, which was sometimes simply ridiculous. Also podbesheval excess of pathos. From the pros I can name a beautiful picture

Watched
The first scene, a 6-8 year old girl almost wins over 20 year old trained women, the second scene, a white cisgender man takes a little girl hostage. Of course, I understand everything, but I have not seen such a clumsy agenda for a long time. And all this is seasoned with a shitty production and graphon

A very bland film that nullifies the characters and ignores physics and logic in its world. Creates new Diana abilities out of nowhere. There is no villain as such here at all. Very naive and childish. The villain was told that he was bad and he just left. He was simply not loved as a child.

Went to the cinema yesterday and was terribly disappointed with the film. The idea to move the action to the 80s is very good, only it was implemented badly, at the end the plot is generally replete with chaos, where history and politics are mixed (why is this necessary?), put 6 only because of the cast.

Watched
I did not expect such a "high-budget cheap". It was necessary to try to remove such a hack after a good first film.

Watched
Too long, lots of plot holes. Of the pluses, a chic bright picture, Gadot and Pascal. The main disappointment is the ending. Even without fish, it looks more like a disappointment.

Watched
The sequel is worse than the original in a bunch of little things that won’t fit in this post. Of the positive moments, I can only note the drama with the villain’s son, and that’s more in comparison to what was in the film. One of the main problems is the stupid actions of the villain, and I would not recommend watching the sequel.

Watched
This is no longer DC, but some kind of Marvel-Disney only without songs and with graphics of the year since 1999.

Watched
The film is very much inferior to the first part. It is fun, light, interesting, but not quite what I would like to see. The movie is not great, just good. Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) is very charming, no one will argue with me here, especially the male part of humanity.

Watched
Very disappointed. Scenario … no words. Where did the budget go? The main antagonists are funny. The game of Gal Gadot is so-so, her girl in childhood, played many times better)). 5 stars only for Chris and Connie, nice to see them again!

Wonderful trailer. Thanks to the color and music. That’s what the 80s mean! At its best. Now there will probably be an avalanche of films in the 80s setting. All the heroes of the past and future will be sent to the 80s. Know ours. YouTube also appreciated it.

Watched
I looked for a long time, I put an assessment only now, it was difficult to choose. A very controversial film. A bad superhero, but a good fairy tale about the harm of wish fulfillment, good roles, completely indistinct parts of the film, and it is past the viewer.

Watched
The wildest incoherent nonsense. Poor graphics, again this overexposure, why do DS still use it. Slow-motion in the Snyder style, it looks terrible, and with this slow-motion they manage to highlight just the most unfortunate moments in graphics and animation. They also dared to steal the music from Pekla.

Watched
A light, children’s fairy tale from DC with an understated message. Pedro Pascal once again plays a single father, and Kristen Wiig surprisingly fit the role of the Cheetah. One thing is not clear why there was an opening scene with the Amazons.

Watched
Gave 3 only for Gal Gadot, she is wonderful. The film is a rare bottom, it is impossible to watch!

Watched
Everything is worse than the first part. The idea of the film is clear, but it is presented very crookedly. The Cheetah turned out to be cool. The scenes with Gali’s flight could have been cut out, very poorly done. Pascal played the best, you believe him. If you do not pay attention to the jambs, then you get a naive children’s fairy tale

Watched
typical superhero chewing gum, went purely because he hadn’t been to the cinema for a hundred years

In Wonder Woman 1984, you don’t have to watch the first 1983 movies to understand the plot))

Watched
Enchanting nonsense, a stupid cliché drives a stupid cliché on a stupid cliché. I thought it was impossible to fall off the floor, but DC did it: Aquaman was defeated, incredible new depths of the bottom were reached. Okay, okay, I got carried away, Aquaman is not defeated, but it’s a solid second place, damn it.

Watched
I didn’t understand the special hate, but the film is very tolerable. There is a great moral – be careful what you wish for, it may come true.

Watched
Very weak, the story is full of holes and a miracle did not happen, the sequel turned out to be noticeably worse than the original (however, the first part did not particularly shine). Previously, B-movies were at least within 90 minutes, and this is a long-winded and cheap-looking "blockbuster".

Watched
Wasn’t expecting anything special, but that’s a shame for comic book adaptations in the 21st century. DC bottomed out again. Looks like a cheap teen sci-fi movie from the 80s: stupid plot, primitive dialogue and terrible special effects. On good terms, the rating is 5.5, but because of my love for the genre – 6.
