The project was announced in March 2019 with Will Smith set to play Williams, from Zach Baylin's screenplay. Warner Bros. was the successful bidder for the film. Reinaldo Marcus Green signed as director in June.

Smith turned out to be a very annoying dad, and I just wanted to get up and give him a bream, if you understand. Separately, it pleases that tennis here is generally purely in the background, and not in the center of the corner, as in typical sports biopics. Translated to English

Amazing performance by Smith. A very strong film showing the experiences of the father, a strong faith in his children. The acting of the actresses who played the mother and children is also excellent. The movie gave me goosebumps several times. At the same time, the realism of individual moments of history is in question, but Hollywood Translated to English

Considering that the movie is based on a real story, it is presented as unrealistic, fabulous and pretentious as possible. The protagonist is a vile person, watching which a nauseating reflex arises. It is sad that the nominees have every chance of an undeserved victory. Disgusting movie. Translated to English

A good biopic, shot in the best traditions of successful sports dramas. Elderly Will Smith performs sometimes contradictory actions (both for the heroes of the film and for me), but always in accordance with his worldview and leading to the fulfillment of his goals. Translated to English

A good story of becoming champions through the prism of a tough and serious dad who painted the lives of girls by day. Perhaps this is the way to succeed, but somehow Richard did not inspire confidence in me. But Smith is a fine fellow, of course. Translated to English

A lengthy and cardboard biopic. Smith plays unusually, but his character causes frank hostility. Fatherly concern borders on despotism, and yet the authors clearly emphasize his rightness. And in my opinion the idea of self-denial for the sake of a specific "plan" is a dubious attitude towards life. Translated to English

Is this story supposed to inspire? But she just repulses. Starting with how they churned out children who did not have enough beds, and ending with the tyranny of a failed dad who realized his ambitions at the expense of his daughters. Also constant crooked attempts to justify or smooth everything out. Translated to English

Very fresh and standard. The same applies to acting. It is better to read a short article if this story is interesting. These "you will be the best", "I know", "believe in yourself" go through the entire film and there is no measure for them. 80% of the budget seems to have gone to Smith and the Williams family. Film of three elephants, feminism, sports and racism. Will Smith wanted to come back to the big picture with a big quote book. Sports drama can’t be bad, so it looks interesting but not fresh. Translated to English

It’s sad, of course, that Elsweet did such a dreary job with the camera. It is even more dreary that there is no directing here – everything is spoken out, no curious mise-en-scenes, and all interesting questions remain behind the scenes – this is just a chronicle of events sprinkled with Hollywood powdered sugar. Translated to English

A film about the growing up and professional development of tennis players, sisters Venus and Serena Williams Translated to English

The authors of the film did not focus on becoming the best tennis players in the world, but on their father and his attitude to business. Although in reality their dad was still an abuser. Will Smith did a brilliant job of brightening up Richard, but I couldn’t help but feel like he was out of place. Translated to English

If you want to watch a movie about an adequate father who made his two daughters champions, then I advise the Indian film Dangal. Moreover, there the movie goes on for 3 hours and it is about freestyle wrestling, and not about dynamic tennis, and watching Indian cinema is more interesting. And the hero there – not m ****. Translated to English

Correct biopic, albeit a bit long. Smith coolly reincarnated as a harsh, straightforward, but loving and confident father. The theme of the family is central here, it harmonizes simply gorgeously with sports, the concept shoots especially strongly in the credits. Translated to English

In short, we played badminton in the summer and the racket broke. Sportsmaster is expensive. Bought on Avito. Such a heavy one. I began to watch this film and realized that it was for tennis, not badminton. I’m an idiot. And the film is good, you worry and root for the characters. Something like Ford vs Ferrari Translated to English

So, is it possible to plan future champions like this? Need to try. What sport makes the most money now? Translated to English

Complete misunderstanding of the work of genres and accents. Sports drama without drama, biography without biography. Also promoting violence. The father is a dictator who planned his life for the children and scored on others. Where is the overcoming of oneself and the struggle. The father earns money from the children. Translated to English

Films about sports, as a rule, are shot according to one canon: they tried – in the end everything worked out. And this is a special interesting story about how children become champions, thanks to the contribution of their parents. Translated to English
