Smoldering Flame of Humor. Towards the end of his career, Charlie began to play tragic roles. And he did it quite well and correctly. Especially here, where he pays tribute to his past as a comedian and ends his career, because he has forgotten how to make people laugh. You can feel a lot of personal things for Charlie himself. The most dramatic Chaplin of all the films I have seen in a lyrical tragicomedy, this is new and unusual for me, but sometimes I wanted to cry from the atmosphere. The price of life is shown in a young and old man as they see it. I think that at the end of Chaplin’s career, the film will not upset you. Translated to English
