Pigeons, slow-mo, church, Macedonian shooting, Mexican standoff – everything is there, as well as boredom as thick as half a film coupled with an inappropriate French vibe, a blinking, faded Emmanuelle and a wooden avatar. The movie only works as a reference to a forgotten original. Translated to English
This is surprising, of course. In 1989, Woo makes a movie. It’s crap, but typical of 80s action movies, but the action is cool and it becomes a cult action movie.
