On July 10, 2012, Lionsgate announced that the film adaptation of Mockingjay would be split into two parts; The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, released on November 21, 2014, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, released November 20, 2015. On November 1, 2012, Francis Lawrence, director of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, announced that he would return to direct both final films in the series. Talking about direction for last two parts Francis explains, "I felt a different kind of pressure," he explains. "[On The Hunger Games: Catching Fire], I had to prove myself a little bit as the new guy in the game. It was a relief that it was received well by the fans. Even though I was relieved, it was only momentary; it sort of set the bar higher for the next one!"

The Book Behind "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2"
About the Book
The film "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2" is based on the novel Mockingjay, which is the third book in the The Hunger Games trilogy. The book was published in 2010 and is a continuation of the story of Katniss Everdeen, a young woman who becomes a symbol of rebellion against a totalitarian regime.Author
The book was written by Suzanne Collins. She is an American author known for her work in children's literature and young adult fiction. Her writing is characterized by its exploration of themes such as war, government control, and personal sacrifice.Book vs. Film
The film adaptation of Mockingjay was split into two parts, with "Part 2" covering the latter half of the book. The movie stays relatively true to the source material, capturing the intense and dark tone of the novel. Key themes such as the consequences of war, the complexity of leadership, and the personal struggles of the protagonist are well-represented in the film.Key Themes and Elements
- War and Rebellion: The book delves deeply into the impact of war on individuals and society, a theme that is central to the film as well.
- Character Development: The growth and challenges faced by Katniss Everdeen are pivotal in both the book and the film.
- Political Intrigue: The novel's exploration of political strategies and manipulations is effectively portrayed in the movie.

In the name of Hutcherson’s 30th birthday, I finally finished watching this hat! The downsides are the dullness and dullness of what is (not) happening, empty pretentious speeches, a cute and extremely drawn out ending, no Lawrence (with her hysterics in the kitchen at the end being completely vocal). Pros –

The second part continued the despondency of the first, only at the end a couple of unexpected turns corrected the impression. Personally happy for Katniss, she stopped leading everyone by the nose and finally decided on the chosen one.

The dull half of the film is saved by a strong final act. This is a film not about teenagers and games, but about politics and a system that cannot be broken. Coin is the same dictator who appeared during the meeting scene. And at the moment of execution, every muscle freezes. Apart from the idea, there are no special advantages.

5.2/10 Here is the end of the "incredible" story. I am glad that I will not see Pete anymore. Overall, the film is no better than the previous two parts. Of this franchise, I only liked part 1. Where there were real hunger games.
Of the minuses: continuation of the Bermuda, that is, love triangle which for me is more delirious than in Twilight. A bunch of unrealistic moments, even for fantasy. And of course, unexpectedly for me, together with Hutcherson, Lawrence also played badly.
Pros: More or less normal ending. There are a couple of interesting scenes, but they are few for a budget of 160,000,000 dollars.
Bottom line: I didn’t like the content of the whole story after the first part.

The Hunger Games finale: 2 hours of dark tunnels, tears and pompous speeches. The plot develops sluggishly, for most of the film it is unclear what is happening and who is whose enemy. Several unexpected turns closer to the end slightly enliven the events, but overall the impression is weak. The final denouement is predictable – the new president turns out to be the same dictator. The only good thing is that Katniss finally decided on her chosen one and stopped leading everyone by the nose.
The execution scene is really intense. However, the rest is dull, pathetic speeches are wasted, the ending is drawn out and tearful, Lawrence’s acting is weak (especially in the hysterical scene in the kitchen – it’s just a failure). And for a budget of $160,000,000, there are catastrophically few epic scenes – there are almost none.
Rating: 6.6/10

Apart from the fact that, to please the trend of that time, the third part was extended into 2 films, after years and a lot of not very high-quality films, we can safely say that the GIs look very decent. You may not like the story, but the film adaptations of the series are generally high-quality and interesting.

The very first part of 2012 was the most interesting and the best. From there it went downhill and with each part it got worse. The entertainment, uniqueness, etc. are gone. the first part for which, I think, many people liked it.
