    Production

Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment first announced in July 2012, that the Minions from the franchise would get their own spin-off film, scheduled for a 2014 release. Brian Lynch was asked to write the film's screenplay, due to his prior work writing for the theme park ride Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. Pierre Coffin became director again with newcomer Kyle Balda as the co-director, marking the first film in the franchise where Chris Renaud is not a director. Eric Guillon returned for the film but was not an art director, as he was the character and production designer for the film.

I love these characters. I always enjoy watching both full-length films and short films. It’s a pity that the second part was postponed, I missed it. Translated to English

A classic example of how even the most charming sidekicks can’t carry a movie on their own (although "alone" is not quite the right word for Minions). But for preschool children, this is, of course, a great and fun pastime Translated to English

Are minions secondary characters to break up the plot with humor? 100% yes. But how tired they are here, being in charge. There was an oversaturation of eccentricity, frivolity and stupid humor. And the morality is very controversial in places. Attempts to unscrew it from – to + failed. 5.5/10 Translated to English

It’s strange (minions serve evil), but I really like these characters! They are charming and funny. Translated to English

Absolutely, completely, completely (and other synonyms) a commercial cartoon with a primitive plot and low-grade jokes, the main task of which is to promote the sale of Minions merch. The kids love it, and I quote the classics: "Too old for this crap!" Translated to English
