Juan Salcedo and his wife, Marta, have been married for several years, but they still haven’t had any children. At last, the long-awaited moment arrives: Marta becomes pregnant and, after the usual nine months, gives birth to a healthy—Black—baby. Stunned by this turn of events, Juan combs through his family tree in vain, searching for any trace of "black" genes. After both his and Marta’s lineages have been pored over back seven generations, he has no choice but to hire private detectives to tail his wife, who continues to insist on her innocence.
