It was announced in January 2019 that Angelina Jolie would star in the film, with Taylor Sheridan writing and directing. By April, Nicholas Hoult, Tyler Perry, Jon Bernthal, and Aidan Gillen had been cast. Filming began in May 2019 in New Mexico, with production concluding in July 2019 and an announcement that James Jordan had been cast. The film's score was composed by Brian Tyler.

And again, the viewer was right. The movie is really weak, especially in terms of script. Looks like Sheridan has written himself out. P.S. Why did these two woodpeckers start shooting at the tower, having spent all the cartridges, if they came up with a cunning plan to lure the kid? P.P.S. The latter is crying convincingly.
The level of "unforgettable hits" from Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla, such as "The Contract" with Freeman and Cusack and "Season of the Killers" with De Niro and Travolta. Absolutely category B. Surprisingly weak for Taylor Sheridan, what kind of "Wind River" is there …
Primitive, but it will do. The plot is as simple as 5 kopecks, the actors are not bad (but Jolie does not go well with the film), the special effects and action are also on the level, but in general it looks belated and old-fashioned. Looks like a lot of similar paintings.

What is the essence of the film, why everything remained behind the scenes. I highly doubt these people would give up so easily.
I really liked it! Sheridan knows how to shoot tough women and keep them on their toes. Great cast other than Jolie. Well, Angelina herself is beautiful as always, even having lost a lot of weight, even with a bloody face.
Flat plot, flat acting. The director mixed all possible genres and it turned out to be a mess, and Jolie, as a lifeguard, looks like an insta-beauty blogger and sumo.
A fiery action movie from the 90s, 100% tailored to the genre patterns of those years, which will be good if you replace Jolie with Norris or Willis. Although it’s better to leave Angie, because where else, no matter how here, you will find confirmation that her lips are eternal: they don’t burn in fire, they don’t drown in water.
Taylor Sheridan replaced the whiteout and cold of the Windy River with the hellish flames of forest fires. I’m waiting for the end of the lockdown.
Strong and independent Angelina Jolie saves another child and it is likely that she will also adopt him. Well, ecology is in the background, because the forest is the lungs of the planet. It’s clear.
Sheridan has attracted good actors and, as always, impeccably shoots beautiful views of nature, but he did not work on the script. For such a master, it turned out weak. For a drama, there was not enough clear backstory, and for an action movie, there were not enough villains and a "final boss".

Beautiful nature, juicy shots and skinny Jolie (thin! – approx. Jolie). My respects to the operator. Great entertainment for one evening with a big screen.
The first half is still okay, but then the movie slows down a lot, eventually failing to catch on. But, just like this reserve in Montana, Sheridan himself burned out with his weak direction. It was a mediocre movie from the 90s. I liked the Gillen-Holt couple, even though their characters were dumb.

The weather here is a separate character, for which there was not enough actor. Its role is to punish Jolie. It is very difficult to explain otherwise what is happening with the thunderstorm, lightning, rain, etc.
5.5/10 Average bash with a bunch of mixed genres, banal in general, but well-posed. Unfortunately, if instead of Jolie there was someone else, the movie would have turned out undoubtedly better.
I love Sheridan’s Windy River, plus this man had a hand in the famous Sicario and the cool At Any Cost. But here something went wrong. The film is absolutely sterile. Nothing more to say :)
Badly. They didn’t bother with the script at all. I think they hoped that excellent actors would pull it out. But no, Al Pacino couldn’t pull it off either.
Spectacular, keeping in suspense, with excellent actors, flirting with the important theme of forest fires – he wants to burn brightly, but unfortunately, quietly smolders.
