    Description

In a dystopian, crime-ridden Detroit, Michigan, young police officer Alex Murphy is brutally murdered by a ruthless gang, only to be resurrected by a powerful corporation as the cyborg RoboCop, who soon seeks revenge on his killers.

    Сast and Crew

    Production

RoboCop was conceived in the early 1980s by Universal Pictures junior story executive and aspiring screenwriter Edward Neumeier. A fan of robot-themed science fiction films such as Star Wars, as well as action films, Neumeier had developed an interest in mature comic books while researching them for potential adaptation. The 1982 science fiction film Blade Runner was filming on the Warner Bros. lot behind Neumeier's office, and he unofficially joined the production to learn about filmmaking. His work there gave him the idea for RoboCop; he said, "I had this vision of a far-distant, Blade Runner–type world where there was an all-mechanical cop coming to a sense of real human intelligence". He spent the next few nights writing a 40-page outline.

Classics of the genre. One of the personifications of action films of the 80s. And Verhoeven wouldn’t be Verhoeven if he just directed an action film. Here is satire with social overtones and human drama. A masterfully made movie, cruel and humane at the same time.

10 shot pussies out of 10, naturally this part will be better than all the subsequent ones, don’t even go to a fortune teller. Verhoeven, as always, exaggerates violence in his films, but here it’s just the theme. RoboCop was recently added to MK11, so I decided to rewatch the films

IMHO one of the best examples of 80s science fiction. A brutal and cool film with an R rating, without which it would hardly have become a cult classic. At the same time, I understand perfectly well that the effects and even the technology now look outdated. I’ve watched all the parts, but I can still recommend only the first

It was shown on TV once and for some reason I decided to rewatch it from my childhood. And I can authoritatively say that 35 years later, this is still one of the best action films of all time.

Excellent sci-fi action movie from the 80s. A great, exciting story with a beloved character.

It turned out to be kind of dull, although at times it was even interesting, the concept itself is not bad, but the plot in the film is weak. In fact, I wanted to give it a 6, but I’ll give it a 6.5 rounded up to 7 on this site, it’s not terrible and it’s okay to watch it once, at least to get acquainted with this franchise.

I watched it again, an iconic science fiction action movie and at the same time a good satire from Verhoeven, the times of video stores and video rentals. Everything is fine, a great theme from Polyduris, great work from Rob Bottin’s team
