    The film was known as The Set Up and was based on a script by Randy Feldman which was based on an idea by Jon Peters and Peter Guber. Sylvester Stallone and Patrick Swayze were signed to star. In March 1989 Andrei Konchalovsky signed to direct. Then Swayze dropped out and went on to star in Road House (1989). He was replaced by Kurt Russell.
